I used to be super religious. In seventh grade, you could find me carrying around a Bible preaching the word of God. Then I slowly drifted to the other side. Currently, I'm an atheist who dislikes "fundies" and those who try to impose their religions. Still, sometimes I unconsciously pray when I'm in need. I think it's kind of a reflex...

Atheist, very much so. That is all =)

^^
Everyone's religious during a time of crisis. Church attendance shot up after 9-11. It's ridiculous.

Least important thing to me ever.

Nothing ridiculous about religion, it's been inherent in mankind since the earliest known man. Deity worship is central to every major civilization in the world.

Beliefs die hard. Statistics show that 80% of people die with the beliefs they had when they were 13.

I was raised roman catholic and attended a catholic elementary school.
Anyhow ever since my church screwed things up , I realised that I'm not really religious so I like to call myself agnostic/atheist.

I stopped caring about religion when I was about 11/12. I don't know what happened, but it just didn't make sense. I guess you could call me agnostic. I rarely touch the issue of religion anymore.

people who believe in a religion scare the **** out of me.

I was raised Jewish in a family of atheists...

I'm an atheist as well.

I'm Christian. But I don't have the same beliefs as most. I don't think Christians are the only ones that make it to heaven. I believe there are many different religions that "have it right" and believe in the same God, they just have a different name for it and different traditions to express their beliefs.

Oh, and I don't go to church... I'd like to, and I'm trying to get my family to go, it's just every time we try to, someone in our family finds something they don't like about every church we try. =/ Oh well, there's always college.

yeah, areyounobody, im sort of on the same wavelength. i was, up until about a month ago, totally into the protestant christian faith. but there are just some things that REALLY bug me about it - that homosexuals wont inherit the kingdom of heaven, and that theyre entire lifestyle is constant sin? no way. and i hate the "the only way to the Father is through Me" interpretation that christianity is the only way to heaven. aghh!! its really making me force faith out of my life because of the exclusivity of the whole thing.

I was raised Roman Catholic; attended a Catholic grammar school and currently attending a Catholic high school. I'm moderate.

It's a lot easier being Christian when your religion teacher laughs at the idea of Creationism and you find that the "horrible sin" of homosexuality is written along side the "horrible sins" of wearing clothes made of separate materials and planting different crops in the same field.

Those who claim that everything in the Bible (especially the Old Testament / Torah) is historically accurate / no room for interpretation need a reality check.

I hate people who laugh at Christians for believing in Noah's ark when it really should be associated with the Jews. I have a quite a few problems with the Old Testament, but I believe in the foundations of the Christian faith.

I'm a Jain (look it up) to about the same extent that sciencenerd (the should-have-been OP) is Hindu.

Boo!

Religion?

Frankly, I don't know what to believe anymore.

whoa, AOM. that is the first thing that we have ever agreed about.

Me neither. But since I have a lot of smart, Asian friends at church, I might as well stay.

I'd rather take Pascal's Wager than go atheist. I cannot trust my own reason, because deep down I realize I'm a dumbass.

oops. post switching thing caused me to read AOM's mind

My religion is of minimal importance, but my faith is extremely important to me.

I am Wiccan, and I firmly believe in the principles of the religion but not in every aspect of it. My faith leads my life in that I believe in karma and the interlocking spirits of all living things.

"Me neither. But since I have a lot of smart, Asian friends at church, I might as well stay."

I hate feeling inferior toward other people... Leave bro. Utilize your invaluable time toward other things.
