How important is SAT Writing?

<p>Hi guys, I scored very well on the SAT Math and Reading, and good but not competitive enough on the Writing (actually got 11 on the essay but messed up MC). How important is the Writing section for admissions into the top 20 universities and LACs (compared with the other two sections)? </p>

<p>Of course I understand that SATs are only a small part of college admission, but I'd like to know nevertheless. Some schools I am looking at (a preliminary list, in no particular order) are </p>

<p>depends on how poorly you did. 700 range would be acceptable. writing is weighted less though.</p>
