how important is straight teeth to you?

how important is straight teeth or white teeth to you? this applies to yourself and others.

my teeth aint perfect but its pretty straight. my bite is opening up a little bit and its bothers me a bit but my ortho offered braces for free since it would only take couple months to fix it. not sure if i want to have a metal mouth again im turning 18 soon and not sure if adults wear braces. is it worth it?

for me. if a person has straight upper teeth but crooked lower teeth then it's cool with me. if you got a real jacked up grill though, then it bothers me.

I have braces on for the 3rd time to correct my bite.

Straight teeth are important. Imagine you're an interviewer and a candidate walks in with horrible teeth. Would you hire him? Looks are a large part of our society, so whether or not you don't care is out of your hands.

^^damn 3 times? i thought i had it bad

Your ortho offered braces for free?????? TAKE THE OFFER!

Yes, 3 times. And it sucks worse than a vacuum.

^ That's a new one.

... vacuums don't "suck", they create a lower-pressure atmosphere so the particles on the ground (carpet) move upwards.

I do like my originality. Smallz, semantics.

I agree! I read your post and I laughed, but being a physics major I felt an urge to correct that. Sorry! :)

Pssssshhhhhhh. And thank you :)

snoopy you pay everytime for those braces? if you did that must have been expensive.

I think thhis last time it was reduced or free. It's because my bite keeps on reverting.

Free braces, and only for a few months? Definitely do it! Straight teeth will help you in the long run, and it's really not a big deal to have them at 18 (I still have braces - they're off in a month, but I'll be 18 by then). It'd be a waste otherwise, not to mention that your teeth will keep getting worse with time.

FREE BRACES? TAKE THEM!!
My parents are paying about 4000 (i cant remember) and they have to pay 4000 more for my corrective jaw surgery (no insurance).
The thing is, my jaws were perfectly normal but my braces made me get a slight overbite. And my parents are so paranoid about the slight overbite (which is so slight, it's almost unnoticeable). That's around about 8 grand for my teeth.
And you get yours for free. Oh and I'm 18 now and I know a couple of people from school with braces.

I say if you were born that way you should stay that way, getting braces is just changing who you really are.

changing your teeth doesn't change who you are as a person.

yes it does, same as breath implants do and any other procedure that is not a neccesity.

I forget which Philosopher said, dont worry of that you cannot change.

Teeth are one of those unspoken indicators of class in our society; get your teeth fixed and wear your retainer this time!

I have always been a big anti-braces guy. I have a nice gap-toothed smile, and I'm completly fine with it. Braces look like nothing more than a big hassle. For what? Most of the time your lips cover your teeth. As long as you can function like a normal human being without pain in chewing, there is no reason to have braces.

I can't imagine a girl talking to her girlfriends and saying, well, he's smart, funny, muscular, but he has bad teeth, so I don't want to talk to him.

I've never had braces, and my teeth are straighter than most of my friends.

I have nothing against braces. I mean, it makes your teeth easier to clean, and you're less likely to get cavities, right?

I whiten my teeth every once in awhile.
