How important is the API of your High School?

I know colleges look at the API of your school when they evaluate you, but does it matter THAT much?
For me.. like.. i started middle school where the API was 995, then because my dad changed work, i went to a school where it was 883, now, he's moving again, so for high school, I have to go to a school where the API is 795. Is this bad?

sorry, dunno the answer to your question. But what does API mean?

API is only in CA I think. It's a measurement of your school's 'goodness', can't think today, through standardized tests.

It's only a California thing. Here's a link to find your school's API.

<a href="http://api.cde.ca.gov/reports/page2.asp?subject=API&level=School&submit1=submit%5B/url%5D">http://api.cde.ca.gov/reports/page2.asp?subject=API&level=School&submit1=submit</a></p>

Colleges would like to see people at competitive high schools, but they understand that it is not up to the student to which high school they go to. Just do the best you can at the school you are at and you will be fine.
