I already wrote mine thinking that it was simply a description of an activity. Now, I researched and realized that it has to show passion. My common app personal statement already shows my passion for this activity but my short answer seems to be just a description. Should I be this worried?

Generally, it’s advisable to choose two different topics for the Common App activity and personal statement essays.

Yes, you should write about an activity (work-related or EC) that has great personal significance. You can still convey a powerful message about yourself in 1,000 characters or less. :-)

Don’t waste time/energy fretting over what you’ve already submitted. Improve your essays for the upcoming Regular Decision deadline.

Good luck.

I agree with Bartleby2007. Admissions want to know applicants through their essays. Writing the same topic limits how much admissions know of you.
