How important is the essay score?

As the title says, how important is the SAT essay score when applying?

uhh it is the least important part of the sat. for sure.
some schools dont even look at the writing section at all

The essay score doesn’t matter much as long as your W score is high. For example, if you got a 800 W with a 9 on the essay (this has occurred before), they won’t care about the 9.

to college?

probably not at all.

You know there are those things called college essays, I think that they may play a more important role.

And I am one of those people who got a 9 essay and 800 writing. Not sure still how I got a 9… I got a 10 before and this one was WAY better… but it doesn’t matter in the end.

I won’t get rejected because of a 9 essay, I’d bet a million dollars on it.

Chances are, neither will you.

If you did well overall on writing then it doesn’t matter. It’ll probably only stick out if you got a 6 or less, which will raise eyebrows if you have an amazing college essay. But other than that it’s fine.

^
That would be me. The most surprising part of my SAT was my essay score: 6.

Not sure what admission counslers will think of my essays though.
