How important is the interview and visiting for GWU?

I got an interview and I visited the school twice, will that increase my chances? I'll just post my stats again (I'm super nervous since this is my dream school!!)

4.3 UW GPA

Very good recs from my AP Lit/Creative Writing teacher (he's a published author) and a good rec from my counselor since I know him very well too.

Secretary of NHS, International World Guard, Gold-medal for Winter Guard, Captain Color Guard, Cheer, and Track. I have about 200 volunteer hours.

ACT is what has me worried... Which is why I applied ED I.

r0kAng3l,

My understanding that the demonstrated interest is most important for students that apply to GW as a SAFETY school.

What do you mean?

You have posted a few times that you have applied under Early Decision 1 (as have I! 21 days until we find out.)

I am thinking that Stocktrader means that because you applied ED, you have demonstrated the maximum amount of interest and so visiting will be negligible and interviewing might yield only a tiny boost.

You have no chance at GW because if you dont know the difference between weighted and unweighted by now then you shouldn’t go to college.

Oops I accidently switched UW and W I know the difference

r0kAng3l: I bet you’re in!

S2 made it RD for class 2014 (and loves GW!) with similar GPA (but had lower number of APs; 5 instead of 7), almost same ranking, and almost same ECs. He had @>2150 SATs, but I don’t know how that translates in ACT terms.

I think you’re in because of your ED status, your high GPA, high number of APs, very good ECs, and most likely very good recs. Let us know how things turn out.

Thank you! I’m just very nervous, I find out by Dec 15th

I was just busting your balls lol, oh wait your a female lol

We’ve changed you so many times.

Your ACT is low. ECs = ok. GPA = ok. Honors/APS = fine. Hook = yes. Essays = ok to weak, from the sounds of it. Recommendations = fine.

Good luck r0kAng3l. Try to find something to keep your mind off things for a few more weeks. I remember my daughter at this time last year, and she was a basket case. Get off this web site and go do something with friends!!!
