Well I just want to know because it seems all these schools have one, but as long as you get a 3.5 it just goes away. How important is it?

Basing this off of the experience of having 3 friends and a family member get accepted to FSU or some other Florida state school without meeting the language requirement.

I am not aware that the language requirement is waived for admission at FSU. And for certain majors at FSU, there is an additional FSU language requirement for graduation.

FSU reviews your final high school transcript. If you said you were taking a language during senior year to meet the HS requirement and you end up dropping it or not passing it, your admission can be revoked. If you apply without having met the requirement, and are not even enrolled in a language senior year to meet the requirement, your admission will not likely be granted. Admissions to FSU are getting more competative, and some who are on the fence gain an admission because they have MORE than the 2 years required.
