How important is the prestige of a political science undergraduate degree?

As I am narrowing down my list of colleges to apply to this fall I am wondering what constitutes a good political science program. I understand that some top tier schools, such as the ivies, have better connections, but if I am not planning on being a career politician do I really need to attend one of these schools to succeed? I am more interested in the public relations or data analysis side of political science and I just want to know wether I should be paying an arm and a leg to attend a top school. I have fairly good stats and EC’s but nothing to extraordinary and am wondering which lower tiered schools I should be considering for political science/if that will even get me anywhere
