How important is the science section of the ACT?

I already applied to colleges so this won’t make a difference, but just for my own curiosity.

My science score is so bad, but everything else is really good. How much weight do you guys think colleges put on the science section? Especially in the context of my application: I haven’t taken an AP Science class and I’m going to be majoring in English. I would have a a 34 (35 superscored) composite if it wasn’t for that science section… :frowning: My best sections are English and Math (36 and 35 respectively) and I’ve heard some colleges look more at those but I wanted to get a second opinion.

how “bad” was it?

@HereToHelpYou‌ 25. Reading’s a 34.

I made a thread under the name @PaulPierce34 i got temporarily banned on this acc so i made that one. I too had a 25 and went up to a 36, just read my tips. It is important cuz it affects the composite and if your going into STEM it is very important.

I totally agree with manas1997, your composite takes a hit. What is your intended major?

@sanwal‌ @manas1997‌ I’m going into English, not STEM.

again, the composite does go down a bit, I have a 28 reading, had i gotten a 31, i could have gotten a 34 C

OP
The only negative outcome is, as others have pointed out, is the decrease in your composite score.
You have already applied to college.

I would put the test behind me and be glad to be done with testing!
