How important is the science section score if you want to go into a science field. For example, pre med, pre pharm, pre vet, etc... I got a 23, and am flipping out.

basically, just as important as the other three as it equally factors into the composite. The composite number is the key score

It only means you are slow answering the questions. Basically, it means nothing.

Above post is wrong. If we were talking about the SAT, yes it would mean nothing, but the ACT actually tests for useful skills. It’s important, as the science section tests how well you can interpret data, graphs, and logically correlate them.

cj is right. the science is important - as important as any of the 4 sections because they are averaged to get the composite. the composite is the key number. I don’t think that schools focus too much on one section over the other.
the writing does not mean much and is not even required by some schools, like Caltech or Univ. of Chicago. Just get the best composite score you can get.
my opinion
good luck

composite is key

A lot of people are very slow on test and of course they don’t have high score on science. Are they all loser? I don’t think so. Basically, schools only use composite to see how well you do on the test. The science score does not affect your future study or job at all.
