How important is the undergraduate college for Pharmacy schools?

I know this topic has probably been done far too often for medical school, but how about pharmacy school? I'm going to attend UC Davis this fall going for biochem with the hopes of going for pharm/med school, but I turned down schools like UCLA/UCSD for UCD because I know I'd be happier there (closer friends) and I had hopes of gaining a higher gpa than if I went to the other schools (not definite but I think its likely).

What I'm getting at is, is a UCD student have a significant disadvantage when compared to those students from top tier schools like UCB/UCLA/UCSD? I know that prestige plays a part, but I'm not sure how large it is. Is it big enough to go to a prestigious school where your gpa might suffer? Or would it be wiser to sacrifice a prestige for a higher gpa + more happiness at a school (friends).

On average, do UCD students fare well in the pharm/med admissions process? Any statistics?

I am not looking down on any schools..just a random collection of thoughts.

From what I've been hearing, a more well rounded student is favored, and there are more apects to the admissions process than prestige. I think it would be wiser to sacrifice a little bit of prestige for a higher GPA, as well as more opportunities for professor interaction, and maybe some research opportunities. Unfortunately I don't have any experience, nor any statisitics (you could probably find them on the web though), but I do know that if you pursue something with all your effort, you will be successful, regardless of whether you are from UCD or UCLA.

GPA is more important than your undergrad college

Prestige of undergrad school is not important. Go where you will be happiest and be able to excel academically. You will be able to get into just as many pharm schools from UCD that you would be able to get into from Berkeley as long as you do well at UCD.
