Hey,
I was wondering how important work experience is? I've held a job year round for 3 years.
During the school year I work 4-5 days a week for 4-5 hours a day, and over the summer I am a Sleep-over-camp counselor.
I was wondering if this impacts schools decisions in any way?
Thanks

It possibly might depending on the college. Check the college profile on collegeboard.com They say if work exp. is very important or not. However, if you have a very important reason for having so many work hours, then it might be important for your app.

Work experience can add to an application.
If you are applying to a field and your job had similar experience or even that you had a 3 year commitment to a job, and your extracurriculars revolved around it is a small bonus.

Also it could explain missing extracurriculars or community service ect. But not totally justify it.

I had limited ecc/cc had to hold a 4-5 hour during weekends and job and during the summer.
