How influential are one's financial aid needs when applying as a transfer to Tufts?

Hey,
I am aware that Tufts University is not need-blind when reviewing transfer student applications and I was wondering how big of an impact one's need for financial aid might have on their admissions decision.

any info would be helpful, thanks

just giving this thread a final boost
if anyone has any input, please post

I have no idea. I would imagine that it simply functions as a negative EC, where if the adcoms are faced with two (or more) otherwise identical applicants, this could hurt you (in much the same way that having a stellar EC would help you stand out in the pack, this is just the reverse). I hope that makes sense.

I would suggest posing this question to admissions; they're usually very helpful.

But the reality is that you need what you need. Regardless of the level of impact this might have on your potential for admission, this is a part of your application that you have no control over. Transfer admissions are always tricky because it's a lot more about the luck of the draw than regular admissions. So I wouldn't worry excessively about this.

thanks, it makes plenty of sense

I will give admissions a call and see what they have to say
