maybe a different system, but those often even have 3.9 UW.

kinda confused, can anybody explain it to me?

it depends on the schools weighting system. i have a 4.83 right now because I take all weighted classes (5pt).

so, ap classes count as 5 if you get A in the class?

Some people are on a 5 point scale, I think, instead of the average 4 point scale.

EDIT: Oops crossposted with like a million ppl at once.
I don't know the answer to the above q, sorry.

or non-regular classes?

My school give you 6 points for AP and 5 points for an honors course. One girl who took all APs had a 6.0 her junior year.

My school is similar to Meugenio.... 6.6 for an A+ in an AP class

***.....that's way too weird. a 6.6?

Every school is different. My school is IB, which is like AP except there are no IB classes for 9th or 10th graders. That makes the maximum GPA something like a 4.5, even though a weighted A is 5 points.

since every college recalculate since they are aware of that 3.9 in A and 3.9 in other B schools will be differe.nt

Otherwise i would freak out, becuase my school only gives 4 for A in all AP classes.

Re: >6 gpa. Some IB schools have the IBO 1-7 grading system.

my school is 5.33 for APs 4.67 for honors and 4.0 for others
but the soph and frosh year honors don't count
and u can't take APs til junior year
so yeah
vals have like 4.7s
and our classes are mad hard...everyone EVERYONE gets 5s easy

A note: when you post on CC, it'd be best to recalculate your GPA to the 4-pt (UW) and 5-pt (W) scales, using A=4, B=3, etc. and an added point for honors/AP/IB. People sometimes get the wrong idea of their chances because their GPA is distorted.

I would just calculate GPA on the UW grade scale and use weighted rank. Weighted gpa doesn't mean much.

^^ I think it does. The difference between W and UW shows the rigor of course load; the UW GPA shows the success in it.

In our school system some people have W GPAs higher than 7 (scale of 4) when you add all the extra classes they took. Crazy isn't it?

My school uses 1-5 for weighted rank.

A 5 is an A in an AP or honors course, but an honors course is only 1/2 year while an AP course is full year.

That's why I have a 4.53 GPA.

no zeros?
0.1 gpa
yay!

Actually, there are people at my school who only have a 0.67, etc., but they're transfered to another school in the school district.

The scale would acually be from 0-5.

lol u transfer stupid ppl out...?
