How is 500 words one page???

<p>The Penn supplement essay says the length should be one page, or approx. 500 words. I am using 500 words as my guide, but I realized that 500 words double spaced takes up way more than 1 page, that is about a page and a half. That is with 1" margins, and 12 point font. Is that something to be concerned about, I plan on just keeping mine around 500 and not worrying about the 1 page limit stuff.</p>
