i actually got a 5 on the ap bio exam...so should i take credits for it? i heard that some med schools dont accept ap credits. but then again i heard that at cornell it's a weed out class and it's very hard to get an A in the class.
i dun wanna let this course fck up my gpa...any advice is appreciated!

are you a bio major? this is key.. because i know that generally if med schools notice that you opted out of general bio in college because of ap credit, they want you to take a year of higher level bio courses instead, which you will of course exceed as a bio major. if you aren't a bio major, would you consider taking two more bio classes like evo or microbio, etc? because that is an alternative. 8 credits is hard to pass up...

I would recommend taking the first semester, and you can always AP out of the second semester.

If Hopkins is teaching this semester, he is very thorough, and will give you a good preparation for upper level bio. His exams aren't easy, but they are fair. There is also tons of support if you need it, like Dr. Goodloe and Bio 007, and lots of office hours to choose from.

im a bio major so i will definitely be taking more advanced bio courses later on. the thing is that ive heard that the med school like the ucs and john hopkins dont accept ap bio credits.

Gilbert is teaching this semester. is he a good teacher?
thanks for the help guys.

gilbert is a very good bio teacher. he's so good that he takes his test questions from the textbook. so you don't ever need to go to lecture (except for clicker questions). i took no notes at all and i only went for clickers. just read teh textbook a few days before the prelim and all should be well

are you still not sure if you're going to be in this class now??
all the labs (BioG 1103) are filled, kids on the waiting lists...they might open up a Saturday morning lab. so that could present some problems.

If you're a pre-med, I would opt out of that class with your AP credit and take some higher level bio instead because that is a pre-med weed out class and you don't want to mess with it unless you have to (coming from someone who DID mess with it and was not happy with the result.

bio 103 was good i felt. it taught me plenty, lots more than bio 101
