Is there anyone from Bioinformatics here who can tell me more about the Bioinformatics program at GaTech ? I have an admit into the Masters' program for the same for Fall 2010.

I've heard two contrasting opinions of the program so far.

Some person told me that GaTech is not as much known for Biology as it is for its engineering and computer science programs. And hence, Bioinformatics isn't really "great" there.

Some other person told me that since GaTech is great for computer science, Bioinformatics feeds off really well from it and there is active research on the same here.

I'm utterly confused at the moment.

I also have an admit from Indiana University, Bloomington for Bioinformatics and IU is considered to be THE place for Bioinformatics these days because of the overall reputation of the IU School of Informatics and Computing.

But the brand name factor is definitely with GTech ! And quite obviously there are more research opportunities at Gatech !

Need opinions....:)
