How is Cal Poly Pomona Masters engineering program?

I know that Cal Poly Pomona's engineering program is ranked pretty well, but the stats are generally for undergrad. I'm wondering how the grad programs stack up. I'm assuming it should fare just as well as the undergrad programs, but wanted to hear from folks who have first or second hand experience.

I have a BS in physics and been working the past 5 yrs(graduated '04) but realized I need a mechanical engineering degree for the stuff I really want to do (automotive R&D, or basically any kind of R&D). Any input and advice would be great. I thought about going to UCI as I live in Irvine and it would be amazingly convenient, but would not choose the convenience in lieu of a better education. It's also hell of alot cheaper.

I'm also considering aerospace engineering as it is an area that I'm really interested in, but have little to no knowledge about.

So if you guys could help weigh out the pros and cons of aerospace vs mechanical engineering(job placement, pay, etc) and which school would be best. I'd have to commute, and relocation is out of the question, so for me its down to UCI or Cal Poly Pomona. Thanks alot!

I don’t know if you already checked out the US news rankings for graduate programs online. UCI is fairly highly ranked, in the late 30s.
Pomona is not ranked as they do not have a PhD program.

Really? Hmm…unless tuition at UCI is significantly higher, I might just go to UCI. I always thought Cal Poly Pomona had a better known engineering department than the surrounding UCs.
