I will try to answer you to the most of my knowledge about Trinity (much of which I gained during an open house session). Campus life SUPPOSEDLY is extremely clique, and very very preppy. I am pretty sure it has the reputation as being one of the preppiest liberal arts school. It is not nearly as liberal as its neighboring college, Wesleyan. Much of campus life would seem to revolve around this, whether one considers this a good, bad, or neutral aspect. There does seem to be a lot to do off campus. In fact, there is a nice little feature Trinity with having bus shuttles to hartford. For free, you can take this shuttle to anywhere in Hartford, at any time of the day. Also, no matter what time of day and where you are in Hartford, you can call this shuttle up, and it will pick you up. I considered this to be an awesome feature of the school, especially if you don't have a car. Though, unfortunately, Hartford is not the greatest city in the world, and therefore, activities outside of the school can be limited (don't get me wrong though, there are probably plenty of things you can find to keep you entertained in Hartford). The school tries to make up for this by having TONS of clubs and intramural sports on campus: this is very similar to most of the other top liberal arts schools. One thing I did not like about Trinity is the fact that it is ranked by many college guides as having one of the largest amounts of beer/hard liquor on campus campared to all other colleges/universities. Actually, it might just be ranked in this aspect compared to just colleges, I forget. I am never going to be a drinker, and I found this to be a huge negative aspect. Other people might love this! Also, there is a Greek (or fraternity) system, so a certain degree of campus life revolves around this system. It all depends on what you are looking for in campus life.

Trinity is a great school (it is ranked 25th out of at least 400-500 liberal arts colleges). Therefore, I can guarantee to you that professors are great, courses are difficult yet interesting. I am pretty sure there is also a large core curriculum required (in addition to your major/minor). I find this to be a negative aspect, in my opinion.

Now you bring up an interesting question: how organized is the administration? Well, let me put it to you this way. At typical open houses, usually you have an admissions officer or director give you the same old admissions speech (high grades most important factor, SAT's not nearly as important, etc.) Trinity had this session, but it was by a senior student (or it might've been a junior). Personally, at a relatively large open house, you would think that it would be a priority of the school to have an admissions officer speak. I found this to be quite annoying, though it might not matter to other people. Also, this might seem extremely irrelevant to you, but at most open houses, where people from around the country or even outside the country come to visit the school, you would think there would be refreshments, or even just coffee. Trinity had nothing; my dad literally had to go a couple of miles down the road from the school to get a cup of coffee. So in answer to your question about the organization of administration, I could not imagine that they are the most organized in the world in certain aspects. In other aspects of the school, I really have no idea. But don't forget, Trinity is a highly selective/ranked school. Administration would have to be pretty organized in most other aspects of the school in order to achieve this.

Now I don't know much about the dorms, but for the building i visited (which has the reputation as being one of the worst dorms), I was not at all impressed. To be quite frank, it was very unpleasant and ugly, if you will. But there are many other dorm buildings, others which are supposed to be much nicer from what I hear. All i saw was this one building that the tour went through, so I could not tell you about the others.

Anyway, I hope I have been helpful in answering your questions. I feel bad that this thread is so inactive, because Trinity College is one of the best colleges in the nation. In my overall opinion of the school, I would have to give it a B+. In terms of academics, Trinity is great. In terms of campus life, Trinity is both good and bad (bad because of the whole alcohol thing, though this may very well be a good for you). In terms of campus asthetics, great. Overall, I am sure that going to Trinity College would be a great experience. Wherever you end up, I am sure you will make the most of it.
