I was considering getting a Comp Sci degree at William and Mary and was wondering how the department is. Also how is the job placement(are W&M grads highly sought after)?

I’d like to add my two cents on this. When I visited, one of the tour guides specifically mentioned computer science as one of their strongest departments, some developing programming with tech giants such as microsoft and google. The departments also has one of the newer buildings on campus. However, as a prospective student, I recommend you look into the programming yourself.

If you’re looking for someone in particular to talk to, I hear GSharpM7 I hear is a great resource as he graduated from W&M not too long ago with a degree in computer science. To see a rather interesting post he made about taking computer science at William and Mary see here : <a href=“Is WM the right school for a science major? - College of William and Mary - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-william-mary/903606-is-wm-the-right-school-for-a-science-major-p1.html

Education at William and Mary will be different than if you went to a technical school that just focused on computer science. You’ll be expected to take classes outside your major and cover all your bases, ensuring that you will have the skills when you enter the real world. Generally speaking from what I’ve heard, placing is excellent.
