I noticed a similar question on the parents thread about AP vs. concurrent credit, but what I want to know is should I bother to pay $260 to obtain credit for the political philosophy class I'll be taking (which is concurrent credit through a local private university) if colleges aren't going to give me credit for it - I'll still be able to take the class to satisfy my HS's gov. req., but will colleges still recognize that I'm taking a harder/college level course?

Take the course, if for no other reason than to get some experience with college-level work. Think of the $260 as cheap preparation for the courses you’ll be taking in a couple of years … which are more like $5,000 each at many private universities.
