does it require a different way of thinking? etc...

What is CS?

CS = Computer Science

I’m sorry to be an ass, but what kind of question is this? Have you done any research at all on what CS is even about? What engineering is about? In CS you deal with certain types of mathematical problems in computing. In engineering, you design/build things to certain specifications and use math along with it. They are completely different.

lol i know how it’s different fundamentally, but since CS is usually grouped as an “engineering” subject, i was hoping if you guys can enlighten me on differences in terms of experiences

anyone?..

There are at least a million sources on the internet dealing with this distinction. A few hundred on this site alone. I am not trying to be mean, but people are not going to spoon feed you forever, do a search and read. If and only if all of these topics and a google search does not answer your questions then you may ask a specific question regarding this topic and you will likely get much better responses.

haha the response is totally ironic considering my last thread

I have posted about the relationship between computer science, software engineering and systems engineering which may explain a little. In a nutshell, one way of doing “engineering” is the “systems engineering” way which divides a creation of a product into 6 phases:

Analysis–>Design–>Development—>Verification/Validation—>Implementation—>Sustainment

so the same applies for CS?

i am actually pretty curious why CS is in engineering as wel. i am doing CS at cornell this fall in its college of engineering
