How is Csulb nursing program?

Hi i got into csulb pre-nursing program

how does this work ?

what are the classes like and what kind of things do the students do?

a detailed feedback will be very much appreciated ^_^

To put it short, it’s EXTREMELY competitive.

You should read through the documents found on their page and if you have specific questions, I’ll try to answer them. I’m only a pre-nursing student, but I’ll try my best.

[Nursing:Bachelor Program](http://www.csulb.edu/colleges/chhs/departments/nursing/programs/NursingBachelorProgram.htm)

I also got in to CSULB as prenursing. I heard that this does not mean we are in nursing yet. Can u explain alittle more?

Being a pre-nursing major basically means being undelcared.

Before you can be a nursing major you have to take certain classes called prerequisites. These 8 classes include:

GE math class

GE critical thinking class

GE oral communication class

GE written communication class

CHEM 140: General chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry

Classes 1-4 must be completed before you can take:
6. BIO 207- Human Physiology
7. BIO 208- Human Anatomy

Class #5 must be completed before you can take:
8. MICR 200- Microbiology

With OVER a thousand pre-nursing students, and only 90 nursing spots per semester, getting into the program is extremely competitive. Even getting into the classes is competitive. They fill up so quickly. They are all full of competitive pre-nursing students. It takes most people 3 years just to finish these classes before they can even APPLY. Applying does not mean you are automatically accepted. There are about 500 applicants every semester for only 90 spots. The AVERAGE accepted GPA for pre-nursing students is about a 3.85 GPA. You essential needed to get straight A’s to get in. In short, it’s very competitive so the department advises all pre-nursing students to have a back-up plan/major. I don’t mean to sound discouraging, but these are the sad facts all pre-nursing students are told. :(
