How is everyone's financial aid from Emory? Is Emory generous when it comes to financial aid?

Does Emory give a lot of loans or grant?

**** awful, now i'm going to cornell.

really? lots of loans? or worse: paying all? I am really scared because whether I am going to Emory or not SOLELY depends on the financial aid....Vanderbilt gave me a descent financial aid....AND my best friend is going there....but I am not sure...My parents really like EMORY, we used to live 10 minutes away from the campus for couple of years and my dad graduated from Emory too...

Is emory generally VERY bad with financial aid?

PLEASE!! ANY COMMENT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED :)

thanks in advance!

I got a great package from Emory (mostly grants)!

My package was amazing!!! Good luck.

They gave me an awesome package--seriously, mostly grants, very little loans.

my finaid wasnt so great....only 10,000/yr in grants

Sounds pretty good to me. Keep in mind that your other school provided you with a merit scholarship.

nothing...nada...sucks!

I got a $2,000 loan..no way I can afford it. Is Emory worth $80,000 in loans on top of law school loans?

yeah i got a $2,000 loan as well, compared to $14,000 off tuition at cornell b/c of in-state.

$2625 unsubsidized stafford loan.....whoooooopy!!!!!!!!

^my exact reaction when i got the official package today rather than having OPUS tell me about it

sucked azz :(
Yea, I'm bitter. Emory was my first choice and now it looks as though I can't get in.. Even though I DID get in.. slap in the face!

Would anyone consider taking a loan for about 30 thousand a year or is that craziness?

I have not gotten my finaid yet. Should i be worried? It has said inquiry acces denied for the past week and it is gettin really close to MAY 1

They generally give out great finaid. I got 40K (but, I'm not going... I'm going to GATech because I like engineering/math/science more, though I'll be taking out loans :().

npaulis, that's freaking crazy. That's what I think anyway. Emory wants me to come up with an extra 20 000 somehow, which would obviously have to come from loans. My dad almost laughed :(

i'm still a junior, but i hear um not so great things about emory

i have a classmate who got into emory, she got NO aid and get this she's a triplet (with her siblings going to elite schools too)

I just received my aid and it is reasonable to an extent. My efc from the fafsa was 50 dollars so I knew it was probably going to be pretty good. They covered 35K with all of that being grants except for 5k of it. It left a substantil gap between cost and finaid but I think I am going to take out a student loan so that I can go.I do think it is strange that they would leave such a wide gap when even UGA covered everything except 400 dollars in all grants and work study.
