is your GPA calculated every academic term? as in can you have a GPA of 3 this term, then a GPA of 3.5 next term? then a GPA of 3 the next term? how is it calculated?
You use individual grades from each class per semester/trimester or quarter depending your grading periods

@girlgoingtouni , you will not get into any decent university if you don’t start using some punctuation. This is not texting. Learn to capitalize while you are at it. I have looked at your other threads. A low GPA is not going to do you any favors. I hope you are not a senior right now. You have a lot of work to do, mainly in getting your grades up. And as far as I know, your overall GPA is the first thing colleges look at, so colleges will take the average of all grades in your high school career. If you are a junior now, you have the rest of this year and the first half of next year to get working.
There are plenty of question marks in that post, so I don’t know what Lindagaf is complaining about.
@bodangles I have read other posts too from this particular poster. She is also giving out conflicting info on her other posts.
@girlgoingtouni as other posters have said, don’t type in all caps. It is the equivalent of shouting on most message boards.
Don’t try to estimate your GPA if you don’t have one. More importantly, don’t lie about your SAT scores. You do not have a 2285.
@bodangles you can tell by OP’s posting history. I can’t really tell if OP is legitimate.
It would be best to go over your GPA calculation with your guidance counselor.
And agree with others about typing in all caps – it is the CC equivalent of shouting at people.
You’re an international at a school that doesn’t do GPA and class rank, and you haven’t taken the SAT yet. Look through the posts on the threads of the colleges you’re interested in (Harvard, et al) to see the stats and resumes of the students who were admitted to those schools. You need to be in that ballpark. If you need financial aid to attend, the competition will be much more difficult than if you don’t.
I’m talking about the punctuation jab. There’s plenty of it in this post. It’s irrelevant.
