I will be staying in Simpson Hall this fall/spring and I was would like to know what to expect. I heard it is recently renovated, how nice are the rooms now? I also was wondering what the bathroom situation will be like and how the floor kitchens are. Does anyone know how much space is in the rooms? I'm trying to decide how much to bring, and I've looked at the pictures on the website, but I would like any suggestions for how to organize my room.

I stayed there the fall after they were renovated; actually saw as it progressed during my summer semester. It is very clean! Laminate wood floors and I believe the walls were not painted white. The closets were a little small. It was a combo of a dresser, a place for shirts, and a spot for the long stuff; basically a wardrobe. There was storage room above it and space under your bed. My roommate and I shared a medium sized fridge and had a microwave on top. We had a tall but narrow bookshelf that we bought and setup to either the left or right of our beds depending on what side of the room you are on. After that there really is not much room for extras.

The bathrooms in my case were situated in the middle of the hall. There were 2 access points based on what side of the hall you were on. There were 3-4 showers and 4 toilets on each “side” but some showers were not so good so most people interchanged where they showered.

Hot water was not really any issue but if more than one person was showering, the area tended to flood. The water pressure was only strong in 2 of the showers.
Kitchen/lounge area was very nice, but it did not stay that way. Something about my hall…they did a poor job of cleaning up after themselves. But there was a stove/oven, sink, and cabinet space. I think there was a table and couches" and lounge chairs facing a flat screen TV.

I had 3 deep plastic bins and a few other boxes that fit no problem. My roommate had her bed high so she had a piano, guitar, and a drawer container all under her bed.

All I can think of at the moment since I have not been there since 2011. But feel free to ask me questions.

Okay, thank you so much! That had all the details I was looking for :)
