Is it prevalent or not much of it? Do you think Obama winning the election will promote interracial relationships?

haha...............

my school is very white....plus Idaho is very red. So I dont think Obama will have that much of an effect here. People will just be angry around these parts

Hm, I wouldn't think that Obama is going to have an effect on high school interracial relationships, lol. At my school though, it's almost nonexistent - although I dated a black guy one time, haha.

How would Obama being elected promote interracial dating?

Cuz he's mixed and liberal. I think it's hawt!

There's lots of it, I'd say. Quite a bit of "yellow fever" in my group of friends (white guy + asian girl), lol. And I'm dating an Indian boy and my sister is dating a Korean boy, so we're a very multiracial family (sister and I are white.) :]

Dunno about Obama winning promoting it... but my friends and I are convinced that the world needs more interracial babies. We were learning about le racisme in French class, and one of the questions was like, "How do YOUUU feel about interracial relationships?" and we basically spent 20 minutes of class talking about how adorable mixed kids are lol and how we should all go out of our ways to make them... XD

Haha, agree with Poseur

I'd say that 60% of the couples at my school are interracial. Two of my three relationships have been interracial as well.

How ironic.

The ad at the top of this page shows black woman with a white man at her side.

Haha.

I agree with Collegehelllp, I don't see how him winning promotes interracial dating. It's like saying Bush's won promoted dating old white guys.

"promoted dating old white guys"

^ EW.

Sorry, lol, but that just sounded wrong...

bush could not promote anything. some people at my school think "No Child Left Behind" is a bullying-prevention act. and they are legitimately smart people who know about the world.

he is most famous for coining a new pronounciation for "nucular"

Nonexistant.

Interracial dating is extremely prominent in my school already. I don't think that Obama winning will have much effect on it at all.

Obama won't have any influence on my school but that's more because it's an all boys school and not many people date, lol, though the people that do date are usually in same race relationships, from what I can tell...

Obama may promote tolerance... I suppose I can see how that might affect interracial relationships... maybe.

With that said, HALF-ASIANS ARE SO CUTE.

Its occurs but not as frequently as one might expect with a fairly diverse school such as mine. Typically people stay within their own race. Anyways, I highly doubt Obama becoming president will affect that in any way....

Occasionally. I've been in a couple myself.

it's impossible for interracial dating at my school to exist, because everyone is the same race: hispanic.

for every 50 hispanic-hispniac couples, you'll have a hispanic-white/black couple.

It's not that big a deal, but I don't see it all that often. I wouldn't really think a thing of it, except for some of my Asian friends (Indian and Filipino, especially) that are really into their culture. That's what kept me from one guy--he was always going to galas and church function with his Filipino group, and his parents expect him to marry into his race. But me, being about as cultured as I am dark (I'm a pretty pale person, haha), wouldn't have a problem with interracial dating.

Of course, my opinion might be swayed because my mom's trying to set me up with a very, very handsome black guy who volunteers/interns at her office.

I'd say that out of 300 or so couples at my school, there is only one interracial couple (that I know of... and I know alot of people) but that may be because I live in the boondocks.

And I don't think Obabma winning will help interracial dating in my area. People will just go out and shoot some squirrels to cheer themselves up over McCain's loss. And no, I'm not kidding.
