I’m an international student, far away from applying to college but I wanna have an overview. I don’t really understand how is it with the SAT tests? does every college have a different list of particular subjects that can be taken by the student? Basically which SAT subject test can I take and can’t? the same with the ACT tests?
@comearoundguy1 If you are referring to the SAT or ACT (not subject tests), then many US colleges will require one or the other (possibly with writing), but I highly doubt any US college requires both. Some colleges do not require the SAT or ACT.
For SAT subject tests, some more selective schools require you take two or three (or perhaps a more specific set of subject tests; Caltech requires Math II and a science, MIT requires a math and a science). Some other schools recommend you take subject tests, although some departments may require them. You will want to check each university’s website for details.
