So how is Cal Poly Pomona? Social life? College town? Faculty interaction? Internship and career opportunities?

Social life.
If you live on campus, it’s actually pretty cool. There’s almost 4,000 students who live at either the dorms, the suites, or the village. If you commute (like the other 16,000 students) you can still be part of campus life if you stick around and not just drive “in and out”.

College town.
Downtown Pomona is actually pretty cool. They have an Art Walk and a Farmer’s market, nevertheless, it’s not withing walking distance. Also, if you live on campus and have a car you can have spend your weekends at the beach surfing, the mountains, skiing, downtown Los Angeles is 26 miles away, and Hollywood 30 miles away. I love classical music so you have world-class musical ensembles such as the LA Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall. You can go to catch a game and watch Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers, Angels, Duck, Kings.

Faculty interaction.
Fantastic, but it depends on you major. I’m a civil engineering major, and my professor know me by name.

Internship and career opportunities.
Being between three of the most populated urban centers in the United States (LA, OC, and the Inland Empire) is a great way to get jobs, internships and co-ops. CPP alumni are all over the Southland. Even in San Diego!

CPP has a great alumni network. If you’re in the College of Environmental Design you will most definitely have a job. I can’t speak for the other colleges.
