How is IU for Cello?

How good are the professors for undergraduate cello majors at IU? I mean, sure they've got Starker, but I doubt he teaches undergraduates. So how about their other professors? I've heard that Emilio Colon isn't all that good, but that was just one person's opinion.

I have been taking cello lessons as a second instrument at IU from a student of Janos Starker, and he has nothing but good things to say about his professor and the professors in the department. In general, you aren't going to get a bad teacher at IU, you just need to find one that works best for you. If you visit, take a trial lesson with whichever teacher you are interested in.

I have two friends who play cello who are in Starker's studio and they are both undergrads.

The string department at IU is said to be the most competative aside from the voice program. Not many people have bad things to say about it.
