How is Middlebury's gym facilities?

1.) How many gyms are there to work out in?

2.) Are the gyms spacious and have a lot of equipment?

3.) Are gyms hogged by respective sports teams?

Midd has some of the best athletic facilities in the country. They don’t call it Club Midd for nothing.

I don’t have the link, but a few years ago someone (it might have been Princeton Review) ranked the schools with the best athletic facilities. Middlebury ranked(I believe) in the top 15. And that was up against schools literally 20 times it’s size. It’s pretty remarkable.

There is one main gym (2 floors) and a cardio balcony overlooking the brand-new field house (gorgeous indoor track). There’s a good amount of equipment and while there are times when sports teams are working out, you can still use the gym and there are plenty of times when the gym is pretty empty. I don’t know anyone who wanted to work out but couldn’t because of facilities. They are amazing. There is also a rock wall, indoor tennis courts, an ice rink, pool, squash courts, basketball courts, and a spin room.

Don’t forget the Snow Bowl (Midd’s own ski mountain) and 18-hole golf course.

I thought the athletic center was one of the best I saw at any of the 20 schools we toured, including many of the NESCAC peers but also some larger schools.

And they have a brand new field house which is really legendary.
We were there a few weeks ago and the facility is so large that 3 teams could be practicing in there and there still would be plenty of room to work out or run indoors…
