How is my list?

Here are my stats:
SAT I: 2150 (V 750 M 650 W 750)
SAT II's: US Hist 640 Spanish 660 (retaking some)
ACT: 32
GPA: 3.76 (unweighted at highly competitive prep school)
Here the colleges I am interested in now:

Amherst College
Colgate University
Cornell University
Tufts University
Colorado College
Washington University in St. Louis
Emory University
Claremont Mckenna College
Oberlin College
Yale University
Brown University
Macalester College

I am thinking of applying to Cornell ED. I realize that Yale is an EXTREME reach, so if anybody has any ideas of a more realistic but still top school to apply to (like a high match to a reach) that would be great. Otherwise how is my list? What do I need more of? Which ones do you think I will get into, which ones are matches, reaches, safeties ect? any more suggestions for matches/high matches? thanks.

I think it is a decent list but you might want to add 1 other safety.

I know this is a bit off from the rest of my list, but I am interested in either liberal arts or a really good business school, so how about my chances at USC business school?

bump, please help, anything

It seems like Dartmouth would be a natural fit for you given the other schools you like (Brown, Colgate, Amherst). You might also like Vassar.

could anybody possibly divide them up as reach, match, safety (can do high match/low match), thanks.

You'd have a decent shot at USC. Assuming that you have good ECs, I'd say it's a high match.

2.

REACH:
Amherst
Yale
Brown
WUSL
Tufts
Cornell

MATCH:
Colgate
Oberlin
Claremont McKenna
Emory

LOW MATCH:
Macalester
Colorado College

I would say that Macalester and CC are safeties, but LACs can be unpredictable. You should really add your state's flagship...just in case.

Also...Dartmouth isn't anything like Brown...or Amherst. Colgate, maybe.

do you get the sense that if I applied to Cornell ED and all the others I would get into atleast one of my "reach" schools?

eh (10 char)

bump bump bump, please read above question

I would really not take that mindset when applying to colleges... Your stats are good, but are just average (maybe even below average) at the reach schools you are applying to. Take away a reach or two, add a match or two and your list will be much better and will give you room to work with if you get denied from all your reaches.

alright, does anybody have any ideas for some more match schools? (I think I would replace Yale and possibly Brown with the new match schools..would USC business be a match school?)

USC would be a high match, depending on the rest of your application.

How about Carleton or Denison?

Carleton would be great...but wouldn't that just be another reach?

I'd say match. I know people who got in with much lower stats than yours.

hm, interesting, thanks.

Might want to look at Holy Cross-similar to Colgate but HC has better location,1 hour from Boston. Holy Cross has very strong business alumni network and is SAT optional.

Some good business undergrad schools to look at would be Michigan Ann-Arbor and UVA. They're both matches for you, and both great schools with a ton of school spirit, though definitely not liberal artsy (they're big). But if you're considering USC, look at those two as well.

maybe look at davidson college
