So I realize that this thread might be a little irrelevant but I thought I'd get some other opinions on my schedule for this fall. I'll be entering as a music ed major

Intro to Public School Music - Friday - 8:00-8:50
Concert Attendance - Whenever
Our World of Music - Friday 9:00-9:50
Applied Lessons - 1 hour sometime during the week
Elementary Piano Class - Tuesday and Thursday - 9:00-9:50
University Chorus - MWF - 3:00-3:50
Percussion Ensemble - Not sure yet
Recital Seminar - M - 5:00-5:50
Music Theory I - Tuesday and Thursday - 11:00-12:20
Aural Skills I - MWF - 11:00-11:50
English Composition - MWF - 10:00-10:50
Intro to Astronomy - MWF - 12:00-12:50

Then I'll have to add a large ensemble that meets a couple days a week and an African Drumming class. Overall I have to say it's looking like I'll be pretty busy pretty much all of the time but I'm very excited about every class (save for maybe English Composition). What do you guys think?

Looks just about right! I didn’t see a studio class included could that be percussion ensemble? You will be very busy but your schedule looks looks like my son’s who is also a music ed major. Congratulations and enjoy your first semester!

I want to say that Recital Seminar is the equivalent of a studio class at my school and thank you, I will!

Having never known anything about music programs before my son went to school, when I saw his first schedule, I thought wow, that’s a lot of stuff. But then things like ensembles and lessons were things he was already doing in high school in his off hours. So I would say your schedule looks reasonable.

My only question would be: how far away is the building for your English class from the music building? Is there enough time to get there in 10 minutes? At the university I went to, that would have been an issue.

The campus that I’m staying at is a pretty small area. I am going to have a bit of a walk to the building where I take my Astronomy and English classes but I think I’ll be able to get there fine in 10 minutes.

That is the awesome thing about being a music major. You look at your schedule and think, “well, that’s going to be fun!”

Looks like a great schedule!
