How is on campus recruiting at Middlebury?

Hopefully a Midd alum can answer this question, but I appreciate any insightful answers.

How is recruitment at Middlebury for financial services and consulting comapnies(Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, McK ect.)?
I’ve long had a keen interest in business, and I would like to know if I would have a good shot of landing something along these lines coming from Middlebury (accepted, deciding on whether to attend next year). My tour guide mentioned that Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank and a few others host information sessions on campus a few times a year, but I would like to have this confirmed. Also, it looks like I may enter as a Feb, but I’m not sure how that would affect summer internships and post graduate employment. Any thoughts on this?

In summary, Middlebury seems like a great school, and I really enjoyed visiting the campus. I am seriously considering attending next year. Is it a “target” school for these comapnies? Do Middkids get offered these types of opportunities, or will it be an uphill climb, considering my ambitions? Thanks!

Several of the major IB players actively recruit at Middlebury.

A simple google search turned this up:

Thank you. The GS info is interesting. The list of finance employers is also good but I don’t know how many of those companies recruit on campus.

Looking at the center for careers and internships calendar, Goldman Sachs, Citibank, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, McGladrey, and The World Bank all visited campus this year.

If you want a definitive answer, email Peggy Burns at career services (mburns@middlebury.edu) and ask for a list of investment banks that held on-campus information sessions or interviews over the past 3 years.

Thanks, I emailed her. How do you think being a Feb would affect all this? Maybe positively, because I could get a head start on the job search?

I’ve always heard that mid-year graduation is a plus when it comes to job searching. Please update this thread when you hear back from Peggy–I’m sure others have the same question.

What are your other choices (if you don’t mind my asking)?

I’ll let you know if I get a response from her. I am deciding between Middlebury and my state flagship, University of Washington. I’ve also been waitlisted at a few elite schools, so I will keep waiting on them, even after I put down a deposit. Are you a Midd alum? I’ve been having trouble making a decision, because they both are great schools for different reasons, and I would appreciate any guidance.
