How is Pitt for CS?

I am a resident of Pennsylvania, and live about 30 minutes from Pitt. I have narrowed my college choice down to Purdue University and University of Pittsburgh. I believe Purdue is known as more of the engineering/CS school, however its coming to about $40,000 a year. That's more than......$30,000 according to my calculations!! But they do have excellent recruitment from a bunch of big companies such as Google and Microsoft which seems pretty nice.

Pitt is coming to $25,000 a year so its $15,000 cheaper a year, which is $60,0000 over the course of my undergraduate education. I know that Pitt is a great school especially for medicine as its medical program is probably one of the best in the country. However, I don't know much about its CS program. I don't really know where to go. I plan to work for a couple years after graduating, then probably heading to business school to get an MBA, so I don't want to spend a lot of money on undergrad education. Do graduates from Pitt have a shot to get into top grad schools? I really don't want to much debt, but I also want to go to a good CS/engineering school. What do you think I should do?

Purdue is definitely not worth 60k more than Pitt. The two schools are pretty evenly-ranked, on the whole.

As far as Pitt’s CS program goes (I go to Pitt but am not in the department): it claims to be one of the oldest CS departments in the country, which I presume means it’s pretty good. You can also cross-register at CMU, which is easily in the top 2-3 schools for CS. Google has a base in Pittsburgh, and I’d wager that they recruit from Pitt’s CS department (as well as CMU’s).

Pitt isn’t perfect, but it’s definitely good enough. You should have no trouble getting into a good graduate school.
