How is Running Start viewed by "elite" schools? (UChicago, Yale, etc.)

Hi, I am currently a sophomore and plan on doing a program next year called Running Start. I will be enrolled full time at a local community college and receive both high school and college credits simultaneously, culminating in a high school diploma and an associates degree in science. I have a 4.0 GPA and have not taken the SAT or ACT yet. My high school offers only 4 AP classes (currently enrolled in one) and offers limited extracurriculars. I would be doing this program to challenge myself and also explore new opportunities and would be able to participate in the various clubs and intramurals offered at the college. How would colleges such as UChicago or NYU view this program? Would they prefer the few AP classes offered by my high school or actual college classes that would challenge me? Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Anyone?

Your HS guidance counselor would probably be the best one to ask.

If you end up taking college courses that are more advanced than college frosh level (which is what AP courses attempt to emulate), then that is likely to be looked upon favorably. For college frosh level courses versus AP courses in high school, some colleges look at the college courses more favorably because they are actual college courses, while others look at the AP courses more favorably due to more standardization.

I guess the best bet would be to contact them directly about their policy. Thanks for the advice
