How is Rutgers with Scholarships?

Out of state (NY) applying to Rugters EA. Do they give a lot of scholarships? I know some state schools are pretty good with that kind of thing, like NC State, UNC, etc.

I don’t think UNC Chapel Hill is terribly generous with scholarships for OOS. But they do offer need based aid if one qualifies for that.

U South Carolina, U Richmond, Ohio State (OOS) has been mentioned for merit possibilities here.

I am not sure about Rutgers, I don’t think they give a lot of merit.

Run net price calculators on college websites, some ask for GPA, test scores and might give a merit estimate.

UNC is NOT good with merit scholarships…where did you hear that?

Rutgers is good with merit to their high stats instate students. Don’t know if they’re good with OOS. On this forum, we don’t hear OOS students saying that they’ve gotten much from Rutgers.

Why are you bothering with Cornell if you “really need” aid, but won’t get a lot with that income?

How much WILL your parents pay each year?

Hi everyone. I want to know what my chances for Cornell are. I have to apply RD because my family is not in the financial situation to do a binding ED to a school that does not give merit aid. I either want to go to the Engineering School (which I know is very competitive) or CALS for Environmental Engineering (which I here is less competitive). Personally I doubt I can get into engineering but could possibly get into CALS.

Stats:
GPA: 94.6 unweighted 95.7 weighted as of February this year.
ACT: 34 (36 Reading, 35 English, 31 Math, and 35 Science) Probably going to send this.
SAT (New): 1450 (710 Reading + Writing, 740 Math)
SAT II: 770 Chem, 750 World History. Math 2 not out yet, and I will take physics in October.
Senior Year Courseload: AP Calc BC , IB English HL, IB Physics HL, IB Design Tech HL, IB Italian SL, IB 20th Century History HL
IB Diploma candidate so I also take TOK and am doing the EE.
APs: 5 on Chemistry, 4 on World History.

Probably around 800-900 hours of community service at local Animal Shelters (since I was 11)

Income around 150k I think, not worthy for Financial Aid even though we really need it!

UNC-CH meets full need for OOS students. The rub is…it’s hard to get accepted as an OOS student.

150k income could get some aid at Cornell, although it may still be unaffordable…Have you tried their net price calculator?

University of Pittsburgh takes highest English and Math from ACT and CR &M from SAT and superscores.
With your 35 ACT English and 740 SAT math you might get significant merit. How is your class rank?

Application opens in July.

Meant SC not NC. Whoops.

Probably around 30th, just barely missing top 10%. I am not sure though because my school doesn’t give ranks to students.
