Hello, everyone. I took the November SAT and got a 790 on SAT CR which I was very happy with. However, my math and writing scores were mediocre and so I’ve completely ignored CR. I just took a practice test and I got a 670 in CR ( I didn’t try because I felt tired), but this made me realize a major problem. All the schools I’m applying to say they super score, but if I get a sub 700 CR score will they take my 790 seriously? Or will they think it was luck? Please tell me what you think as I have to make up the SAT on the 20th.
They would look at your highest scores across all sittings.
@lostaccount I understand that’s their official policy, what I’m afraid of is that they’re going To keep my lower CR score in the back of their minds.
They have no reason to do that. They will look at the highest across the tests.
@lostaccount thank you. I kind of figured so because colleges would want to report the highest score to boost their average SAT scores.
Colleges have different policies with SAT superscore. Some completely ignore subscores that are not the highest, which, I suppose, will even be hidden by the system when your application is reviewed. Some schools, like Harvard, take your superscore, but they still consider your other scores. For these schools, you’ll be fine as long as there’s no significant decrease in scores. They just want to get the whole picture of your strength and efforts. 790 to 700 is okay because 700 is already a good score. Do your best in the test anyway.
