My D was admitted to the School of Culture and Society (undecided major). She thinks she may now be interested in business. How easy is it to transfer between schools? How is the business program (probably marketing interest)?

tells my perspective as a 98 grad in the business world…should help

my friend goes there. They say the business school teaching quality is decent. But I agree with the alumni who states that there is still a brand-name problem with TCNJ. It depends on what you want to do with your business major. If it is accounting(which is practically the same at every school) than you should be fine. For banking I think it might be a little iffy. The thing is alot of the Bulge Brakets(goldman, morgan, etc.) only recruit from feeder schools(mainly ivys and top bschools) so it is really hard to get even an interview without the right connects. However working at a boutique or smaller firm, it might not matter. Depends on your plans. You can always just go for top MBA.

rrjs82, if your D is thinking of majoring in accounting, she will have no problem getting a job upon graduation as all the Big 4 as well as a good amount of medium-sized and small accounting firms regularly recruit there. I, myself, am a rising senior accounting major so I will gladly answer more questions about that. But I do agree that it might be more difficult for other business majors, however.

^^they r right. business is not known/good. did she think about transferring out?

It is not one of the top majors there. Rutgers has a better reputation for business. That being said, I still think an accounting degree from there will get you a job because that is a desired major right now.

The business program is decent here but nothing crazy. I just switched schools from the school of science to culture and society, it was a little annoying, but not that difficult. It just takes a couple of appointments and some walking back and forth between administrative people
