AP World is offered as a 9th grade class in my school. What did you do in that class? Work? Presentations? What are the best/worst things about the class?

Lots and lots of work. At my school, the tests were difficult, and the class required a lot of reading and memorizing and filling-out of charts.

All depends on the teacher, I have probably one of the most laxed teacher in the school. We don’t do much hw except for guided readings, but take alot and alot and alot of notes. The tests are pretty hard, but he also gives us extensive (as in questions quite similar to the test’s) reviews to balance it. I’ve heard other WHAP teachers do key IDs and those take forever.

I personally love the class and really interested in it. My teacher knows how to make it interesting and will find good analogies to better explain what happened and why. The presentations/notes are pretty big.

Best thing about the class, other than my teacher, would be the content is usually really interesting. The worst thing would be the tests because they’re really hard. But i overall love the class and would recommend anyone to take it.

The exam isn’t that bad. I got a 4 and I BSed two of the essays and didn’t know how to do many of the multiple choice questions.

The exam is rather easy, but the avg scores are very low because 9th and 10th graders such as yourself take the class and simply aren’t prepared for it. Make sure you know how to take GOOD notes. Most of the learning you will be doing will be done alone, with your textbook, and if you’re smart, by taking notes. Trust me, you won’t learn by simply reading. You also should know how to write a decent essay. Make sure you are prepared, don’t dive into simply because you think it’s an easy way to get into Harvard.
