How is the ChemE program at OU?

Looks like not much activity in the OU thread, but I would like to learn more about the undergraduate Chemical Engineering program at OU?

I wonder how studying ChemE at OU would compare to privates like Rice or Vanderbilt?

I know OU's program doesn't get much attention (like UT-Austin, Wisc., ULCU, and Univ. of MN-Twin Cities) so do you have the chance of graduating with a similar good undergraduate engineering education from OU or do the rankings really tell us something?

Do the professors and TA's speak good english and is help available when needed?

Do the students collaborate on assignments or tend to do their own thing?

Does the ChE program seem stable or on the up vs. going down hill?

What is the scoop from those who may have an inside view...

Anyone in engineering at OU ?

Yeah there isn't very much activity on this for OU. But I was just browsing around and was hoping I can give you some advice in terms of a career. Just because the school is not well-renowned compared to UT-Austin, Minn, or Wisconsin doesn't eliminate your chance of getting a great career. It's all about your ability to network. I've had friends that went to small schools but had a chance to work for the big companies through networking. But just remember, having good grades says a lot especially for undergrad. It shows that you are passionate about your major.

The engineering department is not so great out here. I would go somewhere else.
