Okay, I don't go to school in Claremont (will be commuting to Cal Poly Pomona), but I was actually searching for an apartment yesterday in Pomona. Well, the one I ended up getting is about a 10 minute walk to Claremont. I was given a bunch of things about it in the housing folder, but I figured I could get better idea of what Claremont has to offer from people who live there. I had to come back north, so I didn't have any opportunity to explore.

Also, this might be a little odd to ask but does anyone go bicycling to Cal Poly Pomona? Or know anything about bus routes to the Pomona area? I've heard the city of Pomona is a bit sketchy, but I am glad I am in one of the nicer places next to Claremont.

Where in Pomona exactly will you be? The part that is right next to Claremont is actually one of the more dangerous areas, I’m afraid.
We’ve lived in Claremont for the past 15 years. It’s a great town, the Village has a lot of stuff for young people to do.
Pomona is a very large city and Cal Poly Pomona is very far away from Claremont, the extreme southwestern end of Pomona. The area of Cal Poly is very nice, you may eventually want to consider moving closer to there.

I could not afford to live at the Phillips Ranch but even then I looked at many apartments near there and read many reviews of apartments as close to the campus as I could afford. Most of them had a lot of infestation problems and gangbangers who play their music endlessly. I looked mine up before I came and it had good reviews for safety and whatnot.

I’m four minutes from Claremont Village Square. I live on a street that takes me straight into (going east) Claremont where Rhino Records is located.

It would take me ten minutes to bike from my apartment to the Claremont colleges if I just took that one street.

Cal Poly Pomona’s only a 13 minute commute with a car.

Yes, Cal Poly is very close by car. I thought you were raising the possibility of biking from Claremont to Cal Poly, that would be a little more difficult.
Anyhow, the Village is a very nice place. Also, being college-age, you might be able to particpate in some of the night life at the Claremont Colleges.
If you have a car, everything will be easy for you to get to.
