Hello everyone
I am so confusing about the purdue class size.
many people have told me that the purdue class size is HUGE, and the average is like 100 people in the same classroom. But the website of purdue states vice versa things.
Can someone tell me what source is true?

The average class size is somewhere around 50 says another website.

When I toured, I only saw two rooms that could hold 100 people, the rest could only hold around 50.

It really varies. Freshman year, some of your classes will be relatively large because they are intro 100-level classes and lots of people need to take them (my psychology 120 class was 430 people, same with sociology 100). But english, usually math, and speech classes are smaller, like 30 people. Once you get more into your major, though, your classes will most likely be smaller because they get more specific.

Just ran across this and remembered this thread.

The best thing about having a large class (250+) is you get a better classroom. Having classes at Recitation, University, and Physics suck to be honest. The better classrooms that are more technological too are the larger classrooms. For example, the huge lecture hall that seats 300+ at Forney, CL50, Lynn, etc. If you are a Management or CS student then you are lucky since you get to have classes at Rawls or Lawson which imho are the best buildings for classes.

Depends on what class it is. My math lecture last semester was around 150-200 kids. However my speech class was 25 kids. Most classes should be small besides your introduction classes. My food and nutrition class right now in CL50 has around 400 kids.
