I haven’t heard much about it, so I’d love to hear some opinions.
Bump?
I don’t know much about it, but the best thing is to look up faculty and classes and see if it is a good fit. Where else have you been accepted?
Various places. My top 2 are SMU and Fordham.
Both are really good colleges, but Fordham is more recognized in the Northeast while SMU in the South. Where do you want to work after graduation? Are finances of concern? If so, did you receive aid/scholarships from either?
Both are really similar in their offerings. For example, both have a 5 year accelerated MS program. Fordham has a 3-2 Engineering Program with guaranteed admission into Columbia’s school of Engineering (which obviously has a CS department) if you maintain a 3.3 GPA average and get a B in all your classes. Apparently that’s very hard but doable and you can still apply for the program if you don’t qualify for guaranteed admission.
@undecidedac96 I want to go into the government (law enforcement really) in the private or public sector. I’m not too interested in getting my MS.
Fordham CS is pretty average. Not the worst, not the best. What hurts the program is that Fordham is first and foremost a liberal arts school, so the program gets ignored and there is no community of students or networking help from the university.
