Is it very math-centric.? I am decent in math, but no math whiz (Got a 4 on the AP Calc AP exam). I plan to re-take Calc 111 instead of taking the credit and then plan to take Calc 112, but only if I can get through microeconomics. Are these intro courses in economics really tough?

dulce, aren't you in ILR. I know you applied to Wharton, if you think you can handle the math and econ at Penn, you can handle them at Cornell.

I'm in A&S, not ILR! I never applied to Wharton either.

Sorry for the confusion. You apply to Penn CAS ED, right? Some how I remember you were associated with some business program. Was it Mich. Ross preferred-admit? If so, I don't think Cornell Econ is that much harder than Mich. Although Mich. curve might be easier cause they have a class that is made up of a much wider range of abilities.

i personally hated the way econ 101/2 was taught at cornell...but i'm sure if your an econ kind of guy/girl you'll manage...

Econ is an excellent major. If you love economics, or the theoretical and quantitative side of finance/business, it's an excellent major...esp. if you want a well-rounded liberal arts education.

Yeah, I got accepted to UMich, preferred admit at the Ross School of Business. I turned it down for Cornell A&S since I'm not even sure I want to do business. Econ might be nice, but I'm not necessarily into quantitative stuff. I might like the qualitative (advertising) better.
