I'd like to hear from a current student how the food choices are at Elon. Elon is my number one, if I get in on the 15th. I do a gluten free diet, and am really careful about what I eat, due to allergies. Will I be able to find alot of food choices? Is the quality of the food really good, or just okay? It seemed pretty decent when I visited, but that was one meal on one day.

My son has been pretty satisfied which the food options. He has visited other schools and thinks Elon has more options and better quality food. The college is always tweeking it- getting student opinion and making improvements. Regarding gluten free see the following from the Elon website:

"What if I have special dietary needs or restrictions? Can I purchase a meal plan?
Yes! We will do everything possible to accommodate your dietary needs, restrictions and preferences. For students with celiac disease, we have gluten-free dining in McEwen Dining Hall. This station provides nutritious and complete gluten free meals and prepares them separately to prevent cross-contamination with other foods.

Vegans, we heard you! Harden has a vegan station providing you with delicious meals prepared separately to prevent contamination from animal by-products. For vegetarians with a little more flexibility in their diet, every on-campus dining location can provide you with a nutritious vegetarian meal.

If you have special needs not addressed here, please contact our Dining Office at 336-278-5333 and make an appointment to speak with our Food Service Director and let us learn how we can accommodate you.

My d has not complained at all. She is a vergetarian and ends up eating most meals at Harden in the vegan line.

Thanks for your feedback, it is really exciting to me that they have a whole gluten free station! I must have missed that on my tour there. This makes me want to attend Elon even more, I haven’t really seen alot of gluten free products at other colleges.

Unfortunately, the meal plan options are going to be changed next year and some students are not happy about it:
