How is the gym/rec center at UCSB?

When I visited UCSB, I noticed there's both a rec center and a gym. Unfortunately, I only looked at the gym, which had a fitness class inside the weights room. I have a few questions about the rec center:

1) Are there weekly cycle and yoga classes?
2) How is the equipment?
3) Are there saunas anywhere on campus?
4) How popular is going to the gym/ does it get overcrowded?

Wow, I just noticed someone else already asked about this! Sorry about that!

Oh? where? :O

^

If someone can still answers questions 1 and 3 i would really appreciate it!

gym is kinda lame…they have classes there mostly

rec cen is godly…they have everything, even a lazy river

Yeah, the gym was lame and old, lol.

So the rec center has yoga and cycle? What about saunas?

And that’s awesome, a lazy river for real? I wish I had seen it.

WHAT?! the rec center have a lazy river?! :O

^ guess so, though I see nothing about it online. Does anyone else have more info on the river? Do they provide the inflatable swim rings?

Rec center + lazy river = secure decision to UCSB.

^ lol it makes me want to go there more too. It seems there are plenty of areas to de-stress at UCSB.

In the two years I’ve been here:

I know there is a jacuzzi, but there’s a lazy river? o__o

Yeah going here too, I’ve never seen or heard about a lazy river. If there was one, you’d think people would know about it. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to resort to going to the beach instead.

LOLWUT I has been lied to?
declines admission to UCSB

Kidding. I will search avidly for the Lazy River this weekend during Spring Insight! But unless UCSB completely s**ts the bed, my admission is relatively safe.

Rec Cen is only accessible by using the Student ID or if you bought a fitness plan, FYI.

Bringing up an old thread here. I saw this last year, and just want to make it clear there is no lazy river. There is a jacuzzi.

To see everything the Rec Center does have to offer, watch the video I made of it here: [UCSB Rec Center and MAC - YouTube](<a href=“UCSB Rec Center and MAC - YouTube”>UCSB Rec Center and MAC - YouTube)
