My son just got accepted into the San Diego State University Honors Program. Any feedback on this? Would this be better than a lower tier UC?

Well, I’m a bit biased because I love the school and I think that it is a great college to attend. Unfortunately, I know very little about the program, but am researching it since my child was accepted. The cons, to me, would be living in Maya as it is one of the oldest dorms, but it does have a pool and I’ve heard good things about the learning communities the school has created in this particular dorm.

What I like about the honors program is that it seems to give more individual attention to the student, which can be difficult to receive at most of the large public schools. I talked with a current freshman the other day and she told me that her friends in the program were enjoying it.

So, to make a long story not so long, I know very little about it, but I have sent emails out to friends with students at the school to see what the students feel about the program. My child will also be attending the honors program reception in a couple of weeks in order to get more information.

Thanks for your feedback. ^^^ :)
