How is the IB recognised in the US Schools

Hi there!
Recently got 44 for the Nov 2014 Exam. Just wanted to know which universities in US I can apply with purely my IB score (without requirement of SAT scores)?

And for the others that require SAT scores, what does my IB score signify to them? Is it recognised as anything?

IB courses at high schools where those the most rigorous courses may be recognized as such. IB HL exam scores may be recognized for advanced placement when choosing courses in college.

They are not generally used as an alternative to SAT or ACT scores at colleges which require them.

I see but I heard there are some universities where I can apply via IB score? Such as NYU for example?

NYU is the only major university that comes to mind- I may be wrong though…
